Animated on the windows of the Saison Poetry Library, The Southbank Center, London during an artist residency.
Followed by the exhibition, Art on Poetry.
Drawing out imagery from a stream of consciousness, while I listening to archival recordings of T.S. Eliot reading his own work The Wasteland. Divers in a flip book on the window dive out - onto the window and into the cityscape along the banks of the River Thames. The scale of the work and the cityscape beyond induces a vertigo, while I work with inky waters; inside and out.
Light Water Glass was made on-site on the windows of the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London, UK during a 6 week artist residency. The residency (by Kalied Editions Gallery) and accompanying two exhibitions (Art on Poetry) were part of Festival of Britain; Art events celebrating 51 years of the Southbank Centre.
